Early birds

Birds are, after cats, my favorite animals. I respect how they can survive cold and bad weather and I love to see how free they are when they fly.
I try to make photographs of them whenever I can, but usually this does not work. They fly away before I am finished and capturing a bird in flight on my camera is something I haven't been able to do yet.
Here are a few birds I did manage to photograph.
Ducks

Magpie

Tomtit

Seagull

Coots

Magpie again (a different one)

  1. I love the feeling of spring in your blog :) I also love birds, and taking photos of them. Here in Helsinki we live nearby a bay, and there are always ducks there, plus usually a swan family. Plus all the other little fellows. I'm glad that winter this year has been merciful towards the feathery friends; last year was pretty bad and I don't know how they managed.

    1. There is a feeling of Spring in the country, I think, judging the weather! I even spent this week cleaning etc. :-)
Birds are amazing, I am also glad this winter has been a little bit easier for them than the last one.

      Kind regards,

  2. Great photos! We get coots where I live, too. They're so fun to watch. I can't wait for spring migrations to start here.

    1. Thank you, Lark, it is difficult to photograph a bird, I think, but I was pleased with these ones.
Birds are great and how funny you have coots as well, that is good to hear.

      Kind regards,

  3. I really like the magpie pictures... I enjoy taking pictures of nature and wildlife, unfortunately I won't be able to do that here for a month or so yet I don't think. We often get robins here, I've a few nice pictures of those from past years.
    :-)

    1. Thanks, Jade. Robins are not as common as they used to be here, and that is a shame, such a lovely little bird. I would love to see your pictures of the robins (perhaps?) :-)

      Kind regards,
